Working at Workability
Jomar Ramos used to work at the Round Table in Suisun City. Round Table is a popular pizza chain restaurant with over 400 locations on the West Coast. Ramos got the job through a program called Workability that helps students and employers find a match.
While he was part of the Workability program, Ramos worked every Monday through Thursday after school and was paid $14 an hour. He chose to work at Round Table because it would give him good experience. To make the job even better, every Tuesday after work, the employees got free pizza, which was Ramos’s favorite part of working there! “It was really great there,” he said. He also said that the staff was really nice as well.
His job was, technically, that of a dishwasher, but he did carry out a few other tasks around the place. If he could have a preference, “I would stick to being a dish cleaner,” he said.
Ramos does not currently work there, but he is willing to return as an employee or a guest. He had to quit due to his Workability term ending. He would definitely recommend the position to other teens needing a job.
