Stress Free Week
According to Associated Student Body (ASB) President Nathan Klassen, Stress Free Week is “a weeklong event during the week of finals to help aid some of the stress that high school students can endure.” This event will take place from Wednesday, January 8 through Tuesday, January 14.
Their goal with Stress Free Week is to offer support and give students time to ease some of the stress that comes with the end of the semester. Support dogs may make an appearance, although it has not been confirmed.
Leadership students were working on planning daily stress-busters for the five school days prior to finals. Klassen spoke on the subject of mental health. “I think it’s important to acknowledge that mental health does exist. Mental Illnesses like anxiety and depression exist, even among high school students,” he said. “No matter how much adults may try to dismiss it, it’s important to address these concerns.” Acknowledging that these illnesses exist and raising awareness is incredibly important, not only or the sake of students but also for the future generations.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the relief offered during Stress Free Week as they prepare for their finals.
