What to look forward to in 2020
The start of a new decade is just around the corner and we’ll finally be able to call the past decade the 2010’s. Many have thought about this momentous year for quite some time. Some have even developed predictions as to what would happen next year. The funniest ones include the ideas that eating will no longer be necessary and robots will take over. Others seem very close by, like finally going to Mars and advancements in technology. There’s a lot to look forward to in the new year, such as brand new technology, events, and movies.
Some events to look forward to next year include the 2020 Summer Olympics, an extra day in February due to the leap year, and many astrological events. One very big event for our country in late 2020, and possibly the whole world, is the Presidential Election. The 2020 Presidential Election will affect the next four years, and possibly even longer.
Of course, the 2020 Summer Olympics is a momentous event where some of the most skilled athletes from all over the world will compete for their country.
Leap years occurs every four years, making 2020 another leap year. You’ll be able to find another day at the end of February. In addition to what’s happening on Earth on July 17, 2020, NASA plans to launch a mission to Mars in preparation for future human missions.
Looking at the upcoming year through the lens of the past, there are a few special anniversaries coming up. 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of some significant World War II events, such as the death of Adolf Hitler and the dropping of the two atomic bombs. The year 2020 is also the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted American women the right to vote.
A new year brings new movies, music, and technological devices. Next year, there are rumors about new smartphones releasing, possibly an iPhone XII or a Samsung Galaxy S11.
Although we will have to wait to find out what’ll happen next year, 2020 is only in a couple of weeks.
