American University offers education in a range of areas

A beautiful campus that is both inviting and exciting.

“I’m fortunate to be surrounded by and learn from the best in the craft,” said Debbie Truong, an American University student who earned her Master’s Degree in Sociology last year.

American University is a private research college located in Washington, D.C. It is said to be a really competitive school to get into, with a less than 26% acceptance rate.

Potential students need at least a 3.66 high school GPA of 3.66, A’s and B’s (but mostly A’s). A minimal score of 1245 is expected for the SAT, which is pretty high but not impossible for students who really prepare for that test!

American University is ranked #77 in the Best National Universities in the US. This school has a graduation rate of 82%, which is really great! Some of their more popular majors are business administration, political science and government, and public relations/image management but they have many more to choose from!

In 1963, John F. Kennedy was addressing the American University students and said, “If we cannot end now our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity. For, in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal.”

Some of the most popular people who attended American University include Judge Judy (Sheindlin), Paul Ryan (former Speaker of the House of US Representatives), and Star Jones Reynolds (actor, journalist, talk show host).

There is much more information on their school website, but those who are interested might want to rock their school colors, blue and red!
