Saddle Up for National Horse Day (12/13)!
Did you know that horses have a healing superpower? They are useful for helping with things like depression and that’s why we honor horses.
Horses have been around for about 55 million years, but the National Day of the Horse was only created and accepted by Congress 15 years ago, on December 13, 2004.
This day is recognized by equine enthusiasts across the country who get together and show appreciation for these majestic creatures. “I love horses and National Day of the Horse is something I love because my grandma used to own one and I loved watching it run so passionately,“ said Adriana Rios.
National Day of the Horse was aimed at ending the slaughter of horses and stopping the roundups of wild horses. “I like horses a lot because they have cool majestic features and they’re allowed to run and be free,“ said Jennifer Munoz.
Anyone can celebrate this annual event by watching a horse movie like Seabiscuit, Black Beauty, or National Velvet. Another way to celebrate is by going for a horseback ride.
I spend most of my time watching TV and hanging out with my little sisters. I enjoy watching Stranger Things and eating Mexican food.
