Coco and Cocoa
Coco and Cocoa was not only a fun play on words but a fun time with friends. The movie night playing on Day of the Dead, November 1st, a Mexican holiday created to celebrate past on loved ones and and to take time to remember them. Coco fit right with that theme, it was about a boy, Miguel, forbidden from playing music by his living family, until he is sent on an adventure through the Land of the Dead, desperate to get his past on families blessing to play music once again. Now, the Cocoa part! Hot chocolate was served along with the movie with the possible add in of Abuelita. Which is a Mexican hot chocolate made with cinnamon and went along perfectly with the movie. Other snacks were also available to purchase such as nachos, conchas, and red vines all for 1$ each. My friends and I had some nachos which I must say were exceptional watching Miguel sing Un Poco Loco to the living dead crowd. Overall, Coco and Cocoa was a success with tasty snacks and an awesome movie, with many additions, showcasing Mexican heritage is a fun way.
