Kids, food and a paycheck make a great combination
Taviyah Simpson started working as an associate at Chuck E Cheese at the beginning of the school year, after she had spent about five months working at Six Flags. At Six Flags, Simpson got experience working in culinary, a skill that has come in handy. Now that she I working at Chuck E Cheese, she is familiar with the fast paced work style. That comes from dealing with the hectic environment that amusement parks can be.
Choosing to work at Chuck E. Cheese was influenced by the fact that Simpson wanted to continue working with friends and helping kids and parents out while still getting life skills from that job.
Although a uniform of a red polo top and jeans is required, Simpson loves that she’s only minimally limited when it comes to her appearance. “I like how I can embrace my piercings and get my nails done, unlike at my old job where it wasn’t allowed.” A typical shift at Chuck E. Cheese consists of interacting with the children, passing out pizza, or being in charge of the prize booth.
Simpson typically works on weekends but when she’s scheduled during the week, she makes sure to manage school life with work. “When I have to work after school, I mostly do my homework before I go to work or after, if I can,” she said. Simpson enjoys the workspace of Chuck E Cheese and she’s hoping to continue to keep up the good work while making money.
