Skate for Change to celebrate Socktober
Skate for Change is an organization that helps provide day-to-day supplies to homeless in the local community. It is traditional for the participants to use their favorite methods of transportation – skateboards, bicycles, skates – to deliver the items and to interact with the individuals in need. On Saturday, October 26, students in the local club and their philanthropic friends will have a chance to participate in the October give-away.
The month is referred to as Socktober and students and staff are encouraged to donate socks (as well as hygiene supplies and warm winter clothing) to the library and AG-5.
On the day of the event, members of Skate for Change – which meets Tuesdays at lunch in G-11, will go out and skate for change. Anyone is welcome to donate and join the event. See Mr. Casey Towner in AG-5 for more details.
I spend most of my time watching TV and hanging out with my little sisters. I enjoy watching Stranger Things and eating Mexican food.
