Applying to a California State University?
Here are some important tips:
The priority application period for the Fall 2020 semester opens on Tuesday, October 1, which
is right around the corner. The application closes on Saturday, November 30. I encourage all
seniors to apply early.
The application fee to apply to each campus has increased to $70. First-time freshman
applicants may be eligible for a fee waiver of up to four campuses. Once a student completes
their application, the Cal State Apply Portal will tell you if you are eligible for a fee waiver. Just
click the “Check my fee waiver status.”
Remember that, if you took the ACT or SAT, your results may be sent to any one CSU campus
and Cal State Apply will share your official test results with any other campuses you have
applied to within the California State University.
Lastly, if you have taken college classes while in high school or through a formal dual
enrollment program, you should specify on the application that you are graduating high school
senior with college credit.
Please check your emails often as I will be offering workshops to assist you in completing
college applications. I am in the College and Career Center located in the library if you should
have any questions.
