Senior Spotlight: Getting ready to start over again!
JaRon Thomas is just starting his senior year, but he hasn’t been at Armijo for very
long. He went to Vacaville High School, but then he transferred to this campus for the
second semester of his junior year. “Coming from middle school, I wasn’t stressing
about where I went for high school but now that I come here I don’t want to graduate.”
While Thomas doesn’t play any sports on campus, he does like to play. “I play football.
My hobbies are basketball and football,” he said. “I’m very passionate about those two
sports.”
Another thing that he is passionate about is listening to his favorite genre of music, rap.
Graduation may be months away, but Thomas already plans to attend Langston
University in Oklahoma because of their football opportunities. He’s also chosen that
destination because Langston is the only member of the Historically Black Colleges and
Universities (HBCUs) in that particular state.
