Revisiting “Who Let the Dogs Out?” almost 20 years later
Who let the dogs out? Seriously everyone wants to know.
Today we are going to be taking a walk down Memory Lane and remember listening to Who Let the Dogs Out? by the Baha Men. Who knew that the song was about men on women at parties? Once you find that out, it ruins their entire childhood! Who Let the Dogs Out? came out the summer of 2000 and became a hit with even the babies in the Rugrats in Paris movie listened to it. I watched it in the Rugrats in Paris movie and, as a result, Who Let the Dogs Out? at least six times a day.
The song won a Grammy for “Best Dance Recording” in 2001, “Kid’s Choice Award for Favorite Song” in 2000, and a “Billboard Music Award” for World Music Album in 2000.We are all familiar with the tune, which is very catchy, has a good message, and still gets stuck in my head from time to time. It leaves me feeling very nostalgic and happy. Of course, Who Let the Dogs Out? is and always will be a 10-out-of -10 song. I would recommend anyone who hasn’t listened to the song or anyone who hasn’t listened to the song in a while to listen to it.
