DVD Review: Rodents that Cook
In the Disney-Pixar animated film Ratatouille, Remy, a rodent with human-like qualities, dreams of becoming a world-renowned chef. After months of observing his idol, Chef Gusteau, and losing his clan during a storm, he’s presented with the opportunity to cook.
Remy sees a garbage boy named Linguini mess up a recipe and sneaks in through a window to salvage the dish. Linguini sees Remy do this and is amazed by his talent. The dish ends up being loved by customers, causing Linguini to be responsible to recreate the dish.
Because Linguini can’t cook, it prompts him to ask for help from Remy. Remy eventually agrees when offered a sweet deal and the two devise a plan to have Remy control the cooking actions and Linguini perform them. The duo becomes really good at what they do, causing a lot of attention.
The fame gets to Linguini’s head, along with new distractions. This starts to increasingly annoy Remy, causing him to perform actions in spite of Linguini. These actions get the two in trouble but all ends well and Linguini and Remy achieve a lifestyle that they both enjoy.
This movie has a great plotline and a lot of plot twists that keeps you interested the whole time. I’d give it 5/5 stars!
