College Focus: Berkeley Bound?
There’s a university down the road that has been the home to several successful individuals. UC Berkeley graduates include Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computers; actors John Cho, Roxann Dawson and Gregory Peck; and Governor of Michigan, Jennifer Granholm, to name a few.
It may seem like an elite list, but it is an elite campus with only a 17% acceptance rate. However, 91% of the students enrolled do find their way to graduating within a few years.
UC Berkeley is considered one of the best public universities in the country. To select their students, UC Berkeley looks at grades from sophomore to senior years. Grade Point Average (GPA) is one of their strict determiners for admission.
The campus offers many different majors focusing on Social Sciences, Engineering, Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies, and Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services.
For those who are driven in education but don’t want to drive too far for their education, UC Berkeley is a great choice and a great opportunity to become successful in the future.
