Kendall Barritt used to race motorcycles, but not anymore. He started riding because his father rides and he taught him the fundamentals. Now he practices near Cache Creek, riding his Suzuki 65. So far he’s been pretty safe and hasn’t broken anything, but he has come home from his rides with bumps and bruises. “I still like to ride, because it helps me with my muscles,” he said.

Barritt had a natural starting point for the sport, since his father could serve as a role model and a teacher, but he knows that not everyone has that direct encouragement. He said that, if he were to talk to someone who is contemplating taking up motorcycling he would “tell them to get a bike that they are comfortable with and they can easily ride.”

While riding his motorcycle keeps Barritt busy, he hasn’t forgotten to look at the big picture and plan his career. “I am taking a class on how to clean OR equipment,” he said. “I want to do this as a long time career.”

Barritt said that he is not involved in any other sports, at Armijo or outside, but his role model is Dwayne Johnson. He also shared that he has an older half-brother who did not attend Armijo.
