1st Annual Dodge ball Tournament

This year Armijo started what hopes to be a new tradition: the Dodge ball Tournament.
Teachers, staff, and students participated in the tournament that fell on Wednesday, November
29. The event was put on by Armijo’s Leadership program; the Associated Student Body (ASB)
officer in charge was Anthony Thomas, Member-at- Large. The event was supposed to model
the way BOA (Battle of Armijo) is hosted, where players sign up as a team and pay $20.
A committee head of dodge ball, Adriana Bernal, said, “It was a bit of a struggle to get
people to turn in packets this year, but we put a bunch of effort into it and I’m excited that
everyone got to see that!”
This year there was two teacher teams, and six student teams. There is hope to
continue growing the event next year and getting even more participation.
The winner this year was a student team called Team Sniper, and the runner up was
another student team, A-team. Judging from the reactions, everybody who participated had a
blast and made lasting memories.
Be on the lookout for tables at lunch at the Indian Outpost to see more about future
events, including the Students vs. Staff volleyball game on Friday, December 8.
