Boxing is one of Diego’s many interests.

“I started boxing because I wanted to be able to exercise and lose some weight,” said Diego Rosales. “Not only that, but I wanted to be able to get in shape as well.”

Rosales has only been in the ring for about a year but he already knows he’d like to keep at it. “I wouldn’t mind trying to pursue boxing. I think it would be cool and fun to do,” he said.

“I’m not rushing to start my first amateur fight because I think I have a lot more to learn in boxing. I honestly don’t feel ready for it either, but I’m okay with it because boxing takes lots of discipline and patience.”

Boxing isn’t his only interest. Rosales also likes to spend time listening to music and watching movies. “I like to do art as a hobby just because it’s special. I like that you can express yourself in art, and that in each piece of art you can somewhat see the artist in some sort of way,” he said. ”However, art is more of a hobby to me and I am more focused on boxing,” he said.

While art and boxing are important to Rosales, he is still interested in furthering his education. “I would love to go to college and just learn anything. There is always something new to learn, and I enjoy that about life a lot,” he said.

Rosales encourages people to try and learn boxing. “It’s good to know how to defend yourself, and it’s a really good exercise,” he said. “Martial arts is not all about combat, but it brings discipline in many different ways. Everyone should learn some sort of martial arts as it helps many people mentally and physically.”
