If the genre is to your liking, the CD will be, too.

A Strange Education by The Cinematics was released March 26, 2007. The CD starts with a great bang; drums are introduced with the beginning of a guitar strum. As it plays, the singer begins to say his first verse.

Beginnings like this make the album start off with such a strong feeling of passion and excitement. It’s amazing. This is an album I would work out to or, if I’m doing homework, it could work as a motivation. This is truly a CD that inspired me to become what I always wanted to be, a musician. I grew up listening to classic rock, or rock in general, so if anyone has had that experience as well, make sure to give this a listen.

Now I want to get into the lyrics of the title track, which are very touching. Right off the bat the singer talks about walking down a road to get to someone to lay the bones. This could mean the walk to his lover’s body who seems to be dead. He then talks about how he imagines her being there, but his mind is telling him it’s never going to happen, meaning he will never see her again. He then repeats saying, ¨Come for me, pull me out of the ocean. Pull me towards your arms again¨. I can see that he really misses her from all the times he’s saying he’s lost without her or her touch. These lyrics really touched me because they talk about grieving someone and specifically about their partner.

It’s such a beautiful song, just one of the many great ones on the album. I recommend this A Strange Education if your type of music is rock or similar to that genre. If you want to listen to the whole album, check it out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uTczZlWcxc.
