War for the Planet of the Apes was released in 2017 as the third in a trilogy of films based on the original Planet of the Apes, which was released in 1968.

The modern trilogy is a series that fans worldwide went crazy for. Before the 2017 film was released the film that started the craze was Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011). That was followed by Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in 2014.

Some of the actors are not new to the movie industry. Andy Serkis has been in hit movies over the years, ranging from The Lord of the Rings series at the beginning of this century to The Batman in 2022. In The Planet of the Apes movies, he played Caesar, alongside Woody Harrelson and Steve Zahn.

Matt Reeves directed this film. He has won many awards for the movies for other movies and worked with Serkis in The Batman.

The movie War for The Planet of the Apes has an astounding plot. It starts with a conflict between apes and humans that has escalated into full war, and Caesar sets out to avenge those he has lost. This series fits in the Sci-fi/Sci-fi genre.

I really did enjoy this movie although it was rather lengthy (2 hours, 20 minutes). Growing up I did see the movies as they came out, but I was never interested in them. As the years have passed, they have finally caught my attention.

I am excited to see the new upcoming film to the series, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which is supposed to be released in May of 2024. Based on Google, they started production in 2022. Owen Teague, Freya Allan, and Peter Macon will star in Planet of the Apes 4, although Wes Ball will direct it instead of. Matt Reeves. Ball Is famous for directing The Maze Runner.
