Because Ant-Man is my favorite Marvel movie of all time, let’s just say that the expectations were high while watching Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

With that in mind, it does pain me to say that I was left a little disappointed! The movie itself was entertaining but there was nothing special about it, nothing really stuck with me when the movie was over. It felt very anticlimactic and kind of simple.

Something that I also didn’t really like was the switch in actors for the character of Cassie Lang (played by Kathryn Newton and Abby Ryder Fortson). Although I think the actor who played her was great, I felt almost sad not to see the actress who played her in the previous two movies.

Something about this movie also felt rushed, like they were trying to get through everything and explain everything quickly to move on to the next thing. It was kind of like whiplash, one moment they were dealing with one thing and one second later there was a new problem.

Because I’m so used to Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) being this charismatic, funny character, I felt like we didn’t get that side of him in this movie. It felt like there was a shift in his character, as he seemed more serious and more focused in a way.

The movie in general felt much different than the other two in the franchise. I didn’t feel the same vibes from this movie that I got from the others and actually felt like this movie was a completely different universe and in no way connected to the other two.

Overall I don’t think this movie will be on my ‘Must Watch Again’ list and definitely not on my ‘Must Recommend to Everyone I Know’ list either!

However, despite its release exclusively in theaters in mid-February, it is still playing on those screens, but should be available on DVD in May.
