On February 2, Will C. Wood Wildcats won their away conference game in Varsity Basketball against the Armijo High School Royals.

For the Royals, it was Homecoming and it was a fight through both the Junior Varsity (JV) and the Varsity games. The JV team won, but the Varsity was not as successful.

Between the games, there was some crowd-pleasing entertainment. Members of the Varsity team went on the court and shot some hoops, and some members of the audience even joined in on the fun.

In the first quarter, the Royals were up by 13 points, but by the second quarter, the game was close in favor of Wood. In the third quarter, the Royals were up by three points. In this quarter, Armijo scored 16 points, partially because of #13 Demari Combs two awesome dunks, but the Wildcats were keeping up. Finally, the fourth quarter came and Armijo succumbed to Wood, 67-55.

One of the most important parts of the Homecoming game, of course, is the announcement of the Homecoming Court. Each class was represented by a Prince and a Princess. The winners for Senior Homecoming King and Queen were Kaiba Washington, a member of the basketball team, and his girlfriend Amaya Tuttle
