A page-turner, but maybe for a younger audience.

Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix is a book I enjoyed, but I don’t believe I will be re-reading anytime soon.

This book reminded me a lot of an M. Night Shyamalan movie that will remain a mystery, just in case it somehow gives away the plot. The storylines are kind of similar, but I think that I like the plot twist in the movie better than the book.

It was a bit young for my taste and a bit unrealistic and contrived, but I found it somewhat entertaining nonetheless. Although there were parts of the book that I found to be quite slow paced!

In my opinion the idea of the book would have been much better if it had had a better execution! It was a solid read but throughout the book I felt like I needed there to be something more.

Overall I would give this book 3 out of 5 stars! I believe I would’ve enjoyed it better had I read it in my earlier years, so if you have siblings or cousins who are under the age of 12, this book would be an excellent read for them!
