AHS sends three girls to Wrestling State Tournament
The team tried their best and three girls are moving up to State.
For the first time in Armijo’s history, three female wrestlers are headed toward the California State Tournament on Thursday, February 24.
The trio of qualifiers – sophomores Karissa McDaniel and Grace Mercado, and senior Ashlee Gutierrez for the second time, placed 5th on the Sac Joaquin Masters Tournament on Friday, February 18.
While no members of the boys’ team will be joining the trio, senior Oeiskie Louis-Cleveland did manage to medal at the Masters tournament.
