U.S. Coast Guard Academy Informational Workshop

LTJG John Hu, West Coast Admissions Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and cadets will be coming to Oakland to put on an informational workshop Sunday 2/27/2022 for all interested high school students. The information is in the flyer below. Please share this with anyone you know who might be interested. The informational session will include a comprehensive presentation for students who are interested in learning more about the unique opportunities available at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and as a commissioned officer.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Learn about the admissions process.
  • Gain insight into daily life, opportunities, and expectations of cadets at the Academy.
  • Meet with Coast Guard members to learn about the operational Coast Guard and career options

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) is located in New London, Connecticut, is highly diverse, and is the smallest of 5 military academies. Accepted students will graduate in 4 years with a Bachelor of Science degree, tuition free, and will serve as “commissioned officers in the United States Coast Guard in the service of their country and humanity.”
