The University of California in Davis, more commonly known as UC Davis, is a public land-grant university was founded in 1905, but an agricultural college until 1959, when the university we know today was established. It is one of the ten campuses of the University of California system.

The university offers graduate and undergraduate programs in medicine, law, veterinary medicine, education, nursing, and business management. Additionally, there are 90 research programs offered by the UC Davis Graduate Studies. There are 104 majors available that range from anthropology and Italian to philosophy and Russian. There are career and programs focused on Religious Studies at UC Davis. There is a minor, major, and graduate program on this study, but we are going to focus on the latter. Essentially, this program offers advanced opportunities to students in the study of religion, where they receive classical training based on literatures of particular religious traditions. Students can also decide which one of the three regional specializations they want to concentrate primarily on. Additionally, a second option is chosen, to create competence. These include American religious cultures, Mediterranean religions, and Asian cultures, which are very interesting subjects.

According to US News.com, the acceptance rate for UC Davis is around 46%, which means they are very selective. Around half of the applicants had an SAT score in between 1140 and 1400 and an ACT score in between 25 and 31, although the requirements for those tests have shifted with the pandemic. The applicant’s GPA score is very important, but class rank and letters of recommendation are not taken into consideration when accepting students. The application fee is $70.

UC Davis is ranked #38 in National Universities, which is a relatively good spot. Additionally, in-state tuition and fees is around $14,500 and out-of-state tuition and fees sum up to about $44,000. Keep in mind the cost of room and board, books and supplies, transportation and personal expenses as well.

Financial aid is available for students, which can come in the form of student grants, loans, and scholarships. You can also fill out the FAFSA form, which is recommended by many experts, as every year, thousands of dollars are being unclaimed by students.

Some of the most notable alumni from UC Davis include American politician Anna Escobedo Cabral, American chemist and NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson, Chinese-American chef Martin Yan, and last but not least former American football quarterback Ken O’Brien.
