Proud future engineers display their awards.

It was a busy weekend for Armijo Robotics, with tournaments at Vanden High School on Saturday, December 4, and Dublin High School on Sunday, December 5.

At the Vanden tournament, Armijo came in 1st place out of 31 teams, with a record of eight wins and two losses.  The win qualified Armijo for the California State Finals.  The Royals went undefeated through the knockout stages with four straight wins, many of which against the top competitive robotics programs from the Bay Area.  They also won the Innovate Award, presented to the team who displays a strong combination of innovation and ingenuity in their robot design.

At the Dublin tournament, Armijo finished with a record of six wins and two losses, making it to the semifinal round of the knockout stages, but losing to a strong team from Saratoga High School.  The Royals came away with the Create Award, presented to the team whose robot design incorporates a creative engineering solution to that season’s challenge.

Armijo has upcoming tournaments in Sacramento, Tracy, Mountain View, and the State Finals in Milpitas.  Congratulations to Flora Wan, Faustina Wan, William Lipayon and Kaleb Ugalde for their awesome performance over the two days.
