Haunted Halls a scary success

We had an outstanding event Saturday, October 30 at the Armijo Haunted Halls event that took place from 5 – 8 pm. Kids filled the hallways doing some “trick or treating” Armijo style, then visited our haunted house. We had over 600 people in attendance, and several came back through for a second run through. Most of the attendees were community families with young children and many Armijo students brought their younger siblings as well!

“I want to thank all of the teachers and support staff that joined us for the event,” said Leadership adviser Casey Towner. “I counted at least 20 staff members who helped set up or brought their families the night of. It was very appreciated by all involved and I really feel like the staff attendance at events/sporting events is being noticed by students.”

Mr. Towner went on to share shout-outs for Theatre teacher Sheena Beeson and the theater team who made an amazing theater hallway that featured classic horror scenes from Beetlejuice, Little Shop of Horrors, Sweeney Todd, and Macbeth. “They had live actors in the hallway and many kids said it was their favorite haunted hall,” he said.

Another shout-out was given to Dan, the night custodian who usually handles the annex. Mr. Towner shared that he was a huge help and had a positive attitude all night. “We had a few hiccups that required his assistance. He was available and ready to help wherever and whenever needed! If you know or see him, please extend my gratitude,” said Mr. Towner.
