Can your talent be financially profitable?

After a forced hiatus due to COVID-19, the Solano Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce that the 2021 Young Artists Competition is back on! String, Wind, Voice, and Piano students are invited to present a concerto or aria movement to our judges at the contest, Saturday, November 13.

Competition Details

First prize winners in each category will earn the chance to perform their concerto movement or aria with the Symphony at the annual Salute to Youth concert, occurring on February 13.

  • Open to: Solano and Yolo County students ages 12 – 21
  • Four Categories: VOCAL, PIANO, STRING, and WIND INSTRUMENTS
  • 2021 Application deadline Nov. 6, 2021:  $30.00 entry fee
  • All music must be approved by the competition director
  • Auditions: November 13 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1600 Union Avenue, Fairfield
  • Awards: $250.00 for 1st place in each category; $100.00 for 2nd place in each category and $50.00 for 3rd place in each category

Applicants must prepare and memorize a movement from a CONCERTO for their instrument or a vocal ARIA that can be accompanied by the orchestra.
