Kicking it with Coach Jordan

The rainy, windy, and cold weather of this winter season show no mercy for the Armijo Soccer Program. Both the men and women’s soccer teams are playing their high school season during the winter for the first time. Despite the harsh conditions, all four teams are practicing hard and working diligently to become better players.

A key instrument in the development of the players is Mr. Jordan, head coach of the JV Boys soccer team. Coach Jordan has been playing soccer since he was three years old, and has been training players since he was 16. At this age, he ran week long skills/training camps at SkyHawks Sports Academy in Spokane, Washington. He eventually became camp director when he was 18. While attending college at Gonzaga University, Jordan coached a U-12 boys soccer team for 2 years. Additionally, he coached both the boys and girls JV programs at Mt. Spokane High School in Washington 2 years ago.

With a lot of experience under his belt, Coach Jordan is looking forward to helping the JV boys become better players. He wants to be able to set them up for success in the future. He said, “My goal is to prepare the boys to play at varsity level.” He also mentioned that another goal is to have a winning season. So far in the season, the JV boys have only lost a couple games, which is a fairly good record.

Coach Jordan has a great passion for the sport of soccer, and is very committed to coaching. When asked what his favorite part about coaching is, he enthusiastically said, “Getting out there to teach the sport that I love.” With the league season only beginning, the JV boys will continue to work hard under Coach Jordan, and will hopefully continue to dominate on the field.
