Have you ever played video games such as Wolfenstein, Bioshock, Titanfall 2, or The Darkness II? Well, Doom is similar! It is a first-person shooter (FPS) video game series developed by id Software. Doom takes place during the year 2149 in a research facility on Mars owned by the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC). The facility is run by Dr. Samuel Hayden, a UAC scientist whose mind now inhabits an android body after having lost his original to brain cancer. After one of Haydens researchers, Olivia Pierce, makes a pact with demons, the facility is overrun by them and they use the Tower to open a portal to Hell.

The game series focuses on an unnamed space Marine, known as the doom slayer or Doomguy, operating under the auspices of the UAC, who fights large groups of demons and the undead from hell. Doom is a popular game because it was the first of its kind. Developers created a 3D look for FPS. The game’s first episode was free to play, and had a multiplayer function. Also they let people mod the game, which let players have different alternations and aspects of the game, according to pcgamer.com/.

Doom is a rated M (Mature) video game series due to all the blood and gore as well as violence in game. Doom’s first release was in 1993, but continues with sequels, expansion packs, and two films that are loosely based on the game’s premise. Doom’s latest version is Doom Eternal, which was released in 2020 as a sequel to the 2016 reboot. Doom Eternal is will soon be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X. Doom is available to be played on PC, PS4, Xbox 1, and Nintendo Switch.
