The lunch ladies have pitched in to help during the pandemic.

Ms. Sylvia Herrera and Ms. Michelle Bolden, the advisers of Lettuce Grow, are looking for students who are interested in getting involved in Armijo’s Garden Club.

“I know we will not have everyone back on campus, but garden is still thriving, just needs a little maintenance,” said Ms. Herrera. “We would be working in small groups, 6ft apart…all CDC safety protocols in place.”

In anticipation of the upcoming return to campus, students are invited to take part in the cultivating of the garden located near the Armijo library, working during the day with teacher permission, starting on April 12.

“Let me know if you are interested,” Ms. Herrera said. “We can make our last seven or eight weeks very positive, help the environment, and help build community at our school.”

Parents donations of time, materials or money for materials, like seeds and soil, are welcome.

If you would like more information about joining the club, please contact Ms. Herrera at [email protected].
