The rapid evolution of technology has served to make things easier for people around the world to live, not just in the sense of work and school or even connecting us. More and more tech has made it possible for people with mental or physical disabilities to be better equipped to do things that neurotypical people don’t necessarily ever think about.

The iAccessibility Innovations company came out with the iAccess Life App in 2019 and recently updated in 2020 for a more interactive user interface.

The iAccess Life app is “a lifestyle application that allows users with mobility impairments to share their experiences with accessibility in public establishments. Users can rate, review and search for places like restaurants, hotels, sporting venues and retail stores based on the accessibility of the parking, entrance, seating and bathroom,” (iaccess.life). By mid-December 2020, the app had had over 1,000 downloads and a 4.2/5 rating on the App Store. It’s available free to download on the Apple and Google Play app stores.

iAccess Life was an idea founded in 2015 by the partnership of Brandon Winfield and Sayeed Merhjerdian. Today, they, with the iAccessiblity team, create devices that are used to help those with disabilities that affect their movement, sight, hearing, speech, etc. From their beginning aspirations to today, they are improving their technology each passing year.

With the help of Teltex, iAccessibility are able to share their many apps and accessories to people who need them. iAccess Life is one of these apps that aims to inform others about public places that are more accessible for people with disabilities. With the increasing efforts of altruistic companies like this, the public is becoming more and more accommodating for people who have disabilities.
