The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has sent shock waves across the gaming industry, even three year after its release in March 2017. What sets this game apart from previous Legend of Zelda games was the open world game play the game offered. This meant the player was able to roam throughout the map of the game freely with no boundaries. Having the ability to roam where you please makes the game more adventurous and puts the player in charge of their own destiny. Breath of the Wild follows the story of Link as he wakes from a 100-year long nap and is sent to save the fallen kingdom of Hyrule. Link must seek help from other strong soldiers of the kingdom and defeat the evil Calamity Ganon to save Princess Zelda. In this fantasy based world, you play as courageous Link on his journey fighting monsters and completing tasks along the way.

This game is a must for anyone who enjoys fantasy, action, and adventure. Since its release, Breath of the Wild has won a total of five awards including the Game of the Year Award in 2017. Just when fans thought the story was over, Nintendo released news that a sequel to the game was in development. The trailer was dropped at the E3 2019 Convention. This surprise made fans excited for the continuation of Link’s journey. To add to that just this September Legend of Zelda producer, Eiji Aonuma, announced the release date of the prequel game, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Fans were shocked to find out another game concerning this iconic story was dropping November 20. If you’re interested in playing this groundbreaking game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is compatible with the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U.
