Jasmin Alarcon

Jasmin has always had a soft spot for scary stories.

While many people believe that experts are adults who have studied and researched a topic, but when it comes to horror, Armijo has its own resident expert, according to former student Mayhem Norris, Class of 2020.

Jasmin Alarcon has always loved horror. I loved scary movies and shows all the way from the good old classics like The Shining and The Exorcist, all the way to newer ones like The Conjuring and Insidious,” she said.

I love the exhilarating feel the horror genre gives me. It’s one of the best feelings to me,” said Alarcon.

Her favorite horror author, naturally, is Stephen King. His books are truly some of the best. I love gory and demon possession-type horror but I love the whole package of horror. I’d say ever since like 2012 I have loved this genre and drawing horror style.

While she is not a fan of clowns, Alarcon admitted that her favorite Stephen King novel is It, but it is not the first one she would recommend for those considering testing out the genre. “A good book to start with is The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson,” she said. “There’s even a TV show adaption of this on Netflix and it’s good. It’s a good beginner book.
