Boys get ready for Fall looks

Fashion review

The weather may seem warm, but fall is just around the corner. Say goodbye to the oversized tanks and Gucci slides, guys. It is time to start shopping so you can bundle up for the cooler season.

The abrupt weather change calls for a change in attire as well. There’s a lot of versatility in boys’ streetwear today, especially since hanging out with your friends on campus will not be happening for a while. The real 411 on boys’ Fall fashion is that there is an evolution headed its way and I’m all down for it.

We may still be a few months away from taking out the parkas and down coats, which will become essential in winter and pair well with Timberland boots, but even if you’re sporting a plain sweat suit this fall, be prepared to layer. Or maybe consider teaming up a pair of dark jeans with a t-shirt and a flannel, just in case you find yourself outside when the weather turns to chill. Turtlenecks are even making their way up the trendy ladder again.

Let’s not forget the beanie! I know for the men the colder seasons can be a bit rough for those who are rocking the low cut and fades. That’s where the beanie falls into place. Some people are ditching the hoodie in place of the warmth and comfort of a traditional beanie. For a time, they weren’t as popular, much like history repeating itself, beanies are flourishing again, teaming warmth with style.

I love the mixture of styles these days, like sophisticated and modern, when it comes to boys’ fashion. For those cooler nights, turtle necks and jeans layered with a trench coat, makes a statement that takes you into a look of class and sophistication. Top it off with black Timberlands and you can appear comfortable and professional at the same time.

Outside of watches or sentimental jewelry, boys’ fashion can be a bit basic, but add colors with a graphic tee or rock some plaid to keep it stylish. Accessories may be on the fringe for the culture of boys’ fashion, but the industry is evolving every day into a more gender-neutral base. I know the industry can take that leap out of the box and completely change the game, making styles accessible for everyone who feels they can contribute to the look, so make it yours even if the ever evolving industry has not caught up to your fashion sense.
