CAASPP testing suspended for 2020

Due to COVID-19, all schools that are closed down will not have to worry about coming in for CAASPP testing. CAASPP stands for California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress and is a test traditionally given to students in 3 rd , 8 th and 11 thgrade. Because the test has multiple parts spanning from one to two hours or more, Armijo has had to create special schedules for all students in the past, but that will not take place this year.
According to the CAASPP website on March 20, “If your school is closed due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), you should not worry about any statewide testing this school year.”
There is no expectation to hold any of the state tests this semester while the pandemic is going on.
The CAASPP testing is the primary evaluation that will be suspended this year.

However, if schools resume in classroom learning, caaspp.org stated that “the Initial ELPAC assessment will not be suspended” as it is required.
