Texas Christian University (TCU) is a private Christian school located in Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded over 150 years ago, in 1869, by two brothers, Addison and Randolph Clark. Both were teachers in Fort Worth and their mission was to create a college where men and women could both get an education and develop character.

Some TCU graduates include Greg Townsend and Larry Brown (NFL players) and Phyllis George (Miss Texas of 1970).

Students have the option to never be bored while attending TCU, which offers 200 different organizations including Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity Inc. and Athletic Training Students Association. It also offers a variety of majors like accounting, African-American Studies, Journalism, and others.

From 2017-2018, eleven of TCU’s 21 sports at the university were ranked in the national Top 25. Eighty-five percent of their student athletes graduate within five years.

TCU has an acceptance rate of 41%. Students who attend pay just over $65,000 per year, regardless of their residency. This fee is comprised of tuition (about $46,000), room and board (about $13,000), and books, supplies, and other fees (about $6,000).

The administrators consider students based on SAT and ACT scores and grades from sophomore to senior years in high school. TCU recommends an 1175 or better on the SAT or a 28 or better on the ACT.

On top of all of these options, Princeton Review stated, “Texas Christian University is the eighth best school for internships.”
