The front of Dave´s Giant Burger is inviting for lunch and dinner.

Dave’s Burgers is just around the corner, and on a good day, the folks at Armijo can smell the aroma of the food being prepared for lunch and even the scent is mouthwatering.

Dave’s Burgers was established in 1963. Dave Heim ran the business until he passed in 2006 so it was passed down to his daughter Lesa Gonzalez. It’s the cutest little burger joint I have ever been to. It’s very clean. You can eat at the bar or at the tables inside, or enjoy the spring and your meal at the tables that are outside.

The restaurant opens at 10 am and closes at 7 pm. They keep their style classic and I love that they have many choices on their big light up menu, labeled with bold letters. A few of the items listed are cheeseburgers, hamburgers, milkshakes, and even taco salad.

I ordered a cheeseburger and it was delicious! It was served with chips. The burger was a big as my face and cost $6.15, which is so worth it.

Most people consider a meal to be burgers and fries, but Dave’s Burgers doesn’t sell fries. “I just tell people that everything we sell is fresh. Except for In-N-Out, burger places with fries use frozen ones,” Gonzalez said. “We don’t even have a freezer here.”

Hopefully, you’ll get a chance to go to Dave’s Burgers sometime after school. With the scent wafting onto campus, it’s hard to resist.
