Keon Ross has been playing basketball for Armijo since he was a freshman and admits that it is all good. “There are no cons about being on the team,” he said. “I get along with my teammates and I chose my jersey number which is 22, so I guess those are all pros.” Ross is hoping to earn a scholarship that would get him on the basketball team at Miami University. While he has never played for a club team, he did come to Armijo with some experience. “If Grange counts, I played basketball in middle school,” he said.
Ross was inspired to play by his father who has been his biggest support and shows up to all of the games, along with Kishon, Ross’s sophomore brother. Together, they yell for Ross from the sidelines, cheering him on with determination, and perhaps the same hopes that they will be able to do the same from the sidelines of the Miami University court in the future.
