Chez Soul is a restaurant located at 711 Madison Street in downtown Fairfield, specializing in Southern style food and in bringing the Southern experience to Northern California. “My favorite dish to get here is the Cajun Jambalaya, it has the right amount of spicy flavor to make it delicious for my taste,” said Angelika Moreland, a repeat customer. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the whole meal and easily served the table of eight I had brought, only making minor mistakes. The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming family focused atmosphere. Recommend/popular items on the menu are the fish and chicken combo, gumbo yaya, and the Cajun jambalaya.

I ordered the Chez Soul House Salad, a refreshing, not too heavy salad. The Mac and cheese I chose as a side was cheesy and packed with flavor. Since I didn’t partake in the meat or fish portion of the meal, Maurice Porter said, “I usually order the fish and chicken combo, both are always tender, tasty, and seasoned to absolute perfection.” Chez Soul also has a great variety of desserts from sweet potato pie to strawberry shortcake. At the end of the meal, I was definitely satisfied with the service and food.  Chez Soul will be great if you love Southern food!
