National Shelfie Day

There are a variety of different national days that exist on January 22, but Shelfie Day has only been around since 2014.

What is Shelfie Day? It is an event that is celebrated the fourth Wednesday of January. This special day is dedicated to those extraordinary writers, entertained readers, and the busy librarians. People celebrate by going to a nearby library or bookstore to dive into a good book, but first, “Let me take a shelfie!”

A “shelfie” is a picture of a person with a book, something they would suggest or something that they want to read. Shelfie Day is meant for people who are head over heels in love with books.

Are you ready to take a shelfie? Head on over to a bookstore or library shelf, take out a phone, and pose for a picture! Ms. Denise Monegato, Armijo’s librarian, would love to help you make your shelfie dreams come true.
