Just in time for the holiday season, Black Christmas is now in theaters.

Black Christmas opened in theaters on Friday, December 13. It is a mystery/slasher movie about a group of female students who are being stalked by a stranger during their Christmas break. That is, until the pledges discover that the killer is part of an underground college conspiracy. Jimena Cruz said, “I really liked Black Christmas. It was honestly a really good movie.”

The movie stars Imogen Poots as Riley, Aleyse Shannon as Kris, and Lily Donoghue as Marty. It has an empowering message to women: women are powerful and can do anything.

There is a huge plot twist, a good message, and likable characters. Even though the movie is only about 90 minutes long, it seems really fast paced, and left me unsatisfied, as if the story wasn’t complete or if it was missing something. After watching the movie, it just kind of feels pointless.

Overall, I would rate the movie a 6½ out of 10. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a quick movie that has lots of action, jumpscares, and a huge plot twist, but there are a lot of movies coming out at the end of the year that might just be a better choice.
