Fireworks or sparklers; celebrate the new decade your way!

For many students, New Year’s Eve signifies not only a new year, but also memories to be made. What better way to celebrate the ending of the year than a nice meal. Most restaurants do not serve until midnight, but most are open during the day and it should be possible to order food to have ready to enjoy throughout the night.

Many students will opt for a night in, either having a party with friends or spending time with family, curled up with sparkling cider ready to watch the ball drop. Jennai Estrada said that her family “bangs pots and pan when the ball drops, celebrating the end of the year.”

For those who choose a cozy night in, TV specials will be hosting a New Year’s Eve event. One of the most popular is ABC’S Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, a solid choice many will be making this new year. Another option is NBC’s New Year’s Eve.

As the years go on, the typical New Year’s Eve parties can become repetitive, even boring. Some ways to spice up the night, whether with friends or on a date, is going ice skating. Those who can drive might opt to go on a romantic drive into the New Year. Bowling or Laser Tag might be another option, at least as a way to spend those last few hours of 2019.

Whatever the choice, this New Year’s Even should be a night to remember.
