Games To Play This Winter

We all know that now’s the time when the whole family comes together for a great time. In some cases, that great time can be limited because it’s too cold to play outside and going out for trips is a death sentence this time of year. So, your best bet for classic family fun time is in the confinement of your own home, and that mostly consists of watching Christmas movies because there are almost no Thanksgiving ones (as was mentioned in the November 15 issue of The Armijo Signal).

People often spend time catching up with family and talking about the ones that didn’t show up, maybe even the ones that did. Of course, eating all the delicious food without thinking is one of the ways people stay entertained, thinking it won’t matter on the diet since it’s only one day. (It does matter, by the way.)

These are all fine and dandy activities, but there is another way to have fun with the family. Yeah, you already saw the title and got the basic gist of what this article is about. All I really need to say is that I’m going to talk about two games for the three main console’s (ps4, Xbox and OneSwitch). If you happen to not have any of those consoles I’m ready to tell you some other games for earlier consoles!

Ah, the Xbox I’m going to be real with you I’m not really big on Xbox and don’t really follow anything related to the console. That doesn’t mean I don’t like it. In fact, I see the large appeal of a console like this. It’s just that it doesn’t have a library games that interest me. Nonetheless, I found two great games to play with the family.

The first game is LEGO DC Super-Villains. LEGO games are always great games to play with friends, family, and by yourself. The game follows all of DC’s best villains wreaking havoc, and it is sure to have all the classic LEGO humor and fun gameplay for an enjoyable time.

The second one is Just Dance 2019. Granted, it requires Kinect, but you can also use your Smartphone to play the game. Everyone knows about Just Dance and doesn’t need someone to explain it to them, so I won’t. Just look over the selection of songs they have and determine whether or not you’re comfortable dancing to the songs.

The ps4 is the console that almost everyone has. That’s not to say that everyone has one, but a large majority do, so of course, having the family over to play some games would be a great idea if it had a larger library of family games. Look, I love the ps4, but its library has very few games to play with the family, and to be honest, why should it? Nonetheless I picked two games to have fun with the family.

Everyone knows about the game Minecraft. Love it or hate it, you are sure to have a great time with the game. Build anything to your heart’s content, survive the dangerous world that you were dropped in. You can do all these wonderful things with the family, and your friends whose family doesn’t really do Christmas. What else do I need to say? It’s Minecraft. It’s really cheap and it’s a great time!

Told you the ps4 has almost no family games. I mean, come on! Do you think the console for Death Stranding and Persona 5 would associate itself with family fun time? Hasbro Family Fun Pack has three board games disguised for the family and lonely old people trying to reclaim those lost feelings of their childhood. Yes, I know that you can easily play these games the classic way and don’t need the ps4 at all to play them.

For the final console we have the Nintendo Switch, the epitome of family consoles. If you have a Switch, you’re guaranteed to have a great time with the family. I could’ve honestly filled this list with games on the Switch, but of course I am keeping it to two.

Super Mario Party is exactly what you think it is. Play on a board to beat your friends and family. We all know that the mai n appeal of this game is the various mini-games that you can play. If you’re looking for a great time with the family, this game is more than a great choice. Just remember that the psychological laws of this game dictate that someone leaves it hating one of the other players.

As I said, the Nintendo Switch is the epitome for family consoles, which means it has the exact opposite problems for family games selection! So for the final game I decided to choose a great game for both the family and yourself: Super Smash Bros Ultimate. It is a very simple fighting game in terms of mechanics, and a hardcore one in terms of mastery. Playing against your family and friends can be fun and rewarding, and it’ll appeal to all ages as well

Well we reached the point where I tell you almost any game can be played with the family and that you shouldn’t limit yourself, but let me just tell you that this time of year is for family and you always remember to put the controller down to be with your family, unless you have problems with them and it’s for the better that you don’t spend time with them. Just do your thing and walk on.
