One of the things that Charles, Qhiara, and Saxon have in common is their last name: Brooks. These three are so different, that it is surprising that they share a last name. They don’t, however, share any family.

Saxon Brooks is a senior who likes to draw, play basketball and hang out with his friends.

Qhiara is a freshman. Qhiara said that people call her Qiqi. She is a cheerleader. Like Saxon, she enjoys playing basketball.

Charles is also a freshman, but basketball is not his sport. Instead, he said, he likes to play baseball.

One thing that they do have in common, to some degree, is how they feel about Armijo. Saxon said that he thinks the people are cool, but “that’s about it.” Qhiara feels that it is better than being at home while Charles said, “I like attending Armijo sometimes.”

The future is even more diverse for these three than their present interests. Saxon wants to go to San Francisco after graduating from high school and become an animator. Qhiara wants to become a nurse. Charles has not made any long term plans; he just wants to be sure to get through with high school.

Qhiara and Charles didn’t have much to share about their name, but Saxon said that he doesn’t really being a Brooks. If he could change his last name, he said “I would change it to golden because that’s the last name of my family gold.”
