Cyber Monday is the Monday right after Thanksgiving. It’s the biggest online shopping day of the year. Some people think Cyber Monday has been around for a long time, but it’s been less than 15 years. This year it’s going to be on December 2.

On November 28, 2005, Ellen David and Scott Silverman joined the National Retail Federation (NFR) and started promoting it, according to a press release on shop.org called “Cyber Monday.” Cyber Monday is usually in November, but since Thanksgiving is so late this year, it is landing in December. Cyber Monday always falls between November 26 to December 2. It all depends on what day of the month Thanksgiving is.

Cyber Monday is a good way to get the items you want on sale without having to leave home. Raquel Cervantes said, “A lot of people like Cyber Monday because they can shop at their favorite stores and get good deals and be able to stay at their houses.”

Black Friday, which is traditionally the day after Thanksgiving but has become earlier and earlier, can sometimes be dangerous because of all the people and some rude people who will do anything to get what they want.

While most people go directly to Amazon to get Cyber Monday deals, a few major stores that will be having a sale this year are Vans, PacSun, and Journeys.

Cyber Monday is a good day for people who love to shop or just want to get some early Christmas gifts. It’s the joy of Black Friday, but from the comfort of your home.
