Work shouldn’t be this much fun

People don’t always get to love what they do, especially when their primary goal is earning money, but as a student, Liselle Puentes has a job that gives her money and smiles.

Puentes works at Boys’ and Girls’ Club of America in Vacaville. She found the job by going to a company called Horizon who hooked her up with the connection.

She loves to work with kids and said that ̈working there “has really taught me a lot.” In her position, she gets to watch kids who are between five and ten years old. She’s not allowed to watch some of the older children because she is young, about the same age as some of them.

Puentes sees the job as a fun place to work. Unlike a lot of people who dread their jobs, she doesn’t count the hours. Instead, she gets to enjoy interacting with the kids.

The hours are pretty sweet, too. Puentes works up to eight hours a day on non-school days (weekends, holidays and vacations) and up to three hours a day on school days. For all that time, she earns $18 an hour.

It is a good job that Puentes would recommend to others who love to deal with children of all ages.
