Marcus picked basketball as his favorite sport, but it wasn’t his only sport.

Marcus Fleming is a junior, playing in his third year of basketball as an Armijo Indian. This season he does pretty much everything regarding a position on the court. He sees his varsity teammates as hardworking, but he believes they can always be better and he encourages anyone wanting to try out next year to make sure to go to summer and fall workouts, and always work hard.

The hardest thing about being on the team this year is probably keeping a positive attitude. “It’s has been great learning from my seniors Cameron and Erin, the captains. Playing against them all the time, I learn a lot. Shout out to them!” he said.

While he is an intense and versatile player on the court, Fleming is very athletic in a lot of ways. He played a variety of sports growing up, but basketball was the most fun.

Although he may seem all basketball, Fleming is also very focused on school with his favorite subject being math. He is the youngest of three children in his family, but there’s a big age gap between him and his sisters, who are 27 and 33. He thrives on the support he receives from his family and friends.

After high school, Fleming plans to stay in California to pursue something in films, maybe attend UC Santa Barbara.
