Young Band Performs for High Marks

“Words cannot express how proud I am of our first performance. It has been a real struggle this year with it being the first year that the high school kids haven’t had any music in elementary school. Something finally clicked last week and we were able to pull it together,” said Ms. Louise Jacob, band teacher.

This performance took place at the Pitman Band Review in Turlock on Saturday, September 29. Armijo earned first place in both Division AA and for Drum Major Rebecca Ramirez. Even though the band does not have a complete guard show, they were still able to place third in that category.

“Once we finish and clean, I expect Armijo to dominate,” said Ms. Jacob. “Our band is very young and smaller. Graduating 32 seniors last year had a huge impact on the program.”

The Franklin Band Review in Elk Grove is scheduled for Saturday, October 13. For more information on the band’s schedule, go to http://www.armijosuperband.info/.
