ASB President: Sharleen Esico | The One to Turn to

For Associated Student Body (ASB) President Sharleen Esico, the school year didn’t just start in August. She and her fellow ASB officers have been working since their election last spring, spending over 100 hours this summer rebuilding the Leadership class structure and planning new events based on student suggestions.

While these events are a major part of the job, Esico said that she is mostly excited about the opportunity to work with ‘the new Leadership students who have decided to join the class as well as those returning students who come with experience. “To see all of them grow, in the position that I’m in now, makes me really happy,” she said.

As a student juggling a full International Baccalaureate (IB) schedule, running on the cross-country team, and her new role as ASB President, Esico said what really inspires her is her desire to make Armijo a better place. “Coming to Armijo is already just so hard… you might as well make fun out of it,” she said.

This school year, Esico plans to do just that, and suggests that other students looking to get involved put themselves out there by joining activities and events to see what they like.
