Away from campus, Mr. Dean continues to consider ways to help his students.

Mr. Angel Dean is new to Armijo, but not new to teaching, or even to the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD). “I have been teaching for 20 years now,” he said. Six of those years were with the FSUSD, the most recent teaching the Functional Academic Special Ed classes. “I also taught ELA (English Language Arts) and math, social studies and science in Resource classes.” Before that, he worked as a physical therapist, but he became a teacher because it was his passion.

Other passions include cooking, travelling, making fun projects and outreach.

My advice [for future teachers] would be to always strive harder and make your students become a better people, said Mr. Dean.

A graduate of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School in the Philippines, Mr. Dean attended the University of the Philippines and De La Salle Canlubang (DLSC). “My professors were the one who influenced me to teach,” he said. “I love teaching. It’s been my passion. Having experienced teaching all levels is amazing and fulfilling.”
